What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a prosthetic replacement for a missing tooth. There are commonly three parts: the implant device, the abutment and the crown/restoration itself. Today’s implants are predominantly made of titanium, a metal that is bio-compatible and offers strength and durability and that can be ossteointegrated.

What are the clinical steps?

- the first step: we insert the implant under local anesthesia into the jawbone for 2-6months (while ossteointegration takes place)

- the second step: attaching the new tooth to the anchored implant.
